In a natural conception, the tubes are indispensable. In an IVF cycle, they play absolutely no role. Here is what happens instead:
- Your ovaries are stimulated with carefully titrated hormonal injections to produce multiple mature eggs.
- Eggs are retrieved directly from your ovaries through a minor ultrasound-guided procedure, with no tubes involved involved.
- The eggs are fertilised with sperm in our embryology lab and cultured for 3 to 5 days.

The tubes are not consulted, passed through, or required at any point. Whether both your tubes are blocked, damaged, filled with fluid, or surgically absent, it makes no difference to the IVF process.
